It is bordered by Istan and Ojen municipalities on the North, Benahavis on the Northwest, West Estepona and Northeast by Mijas whereas the sea remains to the South.
Marbella’s famous Golden Mile is a 6 km long strip of land that stretches from the Western way out of Marbella, until Puerto Banus.
This name Golden Mile was coined in the mid 90’s, as the recognition of the amount of wealth, luxury, glamor, and therefore price of real estate, concentrated on this piece of land.
Marbella East stretches from Marbella Center until Puerto Cabopino.
The main specifics of the Eastern side of Marbella is the vast spread of green areas, in contrast with the Central and Western Marbella, which are more focused on the urban-side of life.
Puerto Banus is a charming luxury marina and village a few miles away west of downtown Marbella.
Nueva Andalucia is an area just west of Marbella and inland Puerto Banus.
