Manilva has a prime location on the western coast of Malaga.
It is a wonderful village that is located just close to the Mediterranean sea.
The village has quite a number of archaeological finds from pirates who used to attack this coast.
History says that it was built from the money of a Seville nobleman named Don Francisco Paulino.
This village in particular was occupied by Napoleon’s troops and that is why the village wears the words ‘most noble and loyal village’.
The village has kept its originality as there are no modern and tall buildings around.
It has a great location as it is very close to Puerto Duquesa with its surrounding residential area and Dona Julia golf course, where you can find numerous restaurants, commercial centers and a wide variety of facilities.
It is 30 minutes away from Marbella and Puerto Banus.
Manilva’s community is small, around 20,000 which grows to 35,000 when tourists arrive.
It is very close to Gibraltar and that has brought a lot of foreign residents to the area.
The main feature of Manilva is the church.
A very old but not ancient church built in the 18th century that is used as the most solid point of the village of communal worship.
Next to it is the typical Spanish cemetery dating from 1877 that is often visited due to the huge amount of English names dating from ‘80s and ‘90s.
